Full Time and Part-Time Opportunities
Our client is actively seeking permanent full-time and part-time Pediatricians to join a great collegial and supportive team! The paediatric group currently includes 10 paediatricians. Their Maternal Child Unit has a 6 (up to 8) bed paediatric unit, a Level 2A NICU, and performs 1500 deliveries per year, staffed in a hospitalist model by a dynamic and supportive group of paediatricians, committed to optimizing both clinical experience and lifestyle for each other and patients.
Our client is a family of four hospitals that are working to “Create Healthier Communities Together”. The team of 2,600 staff and physicians provide care through four emergency departments, operating rooms at three hospitals, a rehabilitation day hospital, ambulatory care clinics, and a range of diagnostic services. There are more than 335 inpatient beds for acute medical patients, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation, and surgery. In addition, they are proud to operate a Children’s Treatment Centre and community mental health programs. They provide a wide range of high-quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents.
Remuneration: APP model (base stipend plus percentage of billings)
About the Role:
The practice is versatile with a balanced exposure to both inpatient and outpatient settings, and ample opportunities for hands-on experience.
There is an opportunity to join a group outpatient clinic that is well known in the community and is managed by the group. The clinic is a shared space-based practice that is managed and operated by the group and located conveniently across the street from the Hospital. The clinic provides consultative care for a wide range of general paediatric conditions, and also operates an urgent consultation clinic. Pediatricians also provide consultative care through a few multi-disciplinary clinics at the Hospital, The Children's Treatment Centre and the Regional Paediatric Diabetes clinic. There may be opportunities to join these multi-disciplinary clinics based on interests and scope of practice.
Paediatric consultative services are mainly provided at The Hospital, though the group also provides support to other hospitals in the region. The local tertiary care facility and regional site for NICU is located only 45 minutes away. CHEO (Ottawa, Ontario) is also their PICU referral site and also very supportive of the group in terms of many subspecialty consultative services. All paediatricians hold academic appointments with Queen’s University and have the opportunity to regularly participate in Queen’s resident and medical student training during their community paediatric rotation. There are also many opportunities to be engaged in managerial and leadership roles by taking a lead in many paediatric division initiatives, committees and quality improvement projects.
Qualifications:
- Royal College certification in Pediatrics.

Fully independent registration (or eligible for) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in Ontario

Current with NRP and PALS certifications.

Excellent communication and team skills and demonstrated leadership potential will be an asset.
