Remote Radiologist Opportunity – Ontario

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist to join a collaborative and progressive imaging team in a fully remote Independent Contractor role. This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys working in a high-volume, technology-enabled environment while delivering timely, high-quality diagnostic interpretations that support both preventive and acute patient care.

The position initially requires Saturday coverage, with opportunities to provide additional weekday coverage as needed. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinical Director, Radiology, and a multidisciplinary team committed to clinical excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret a broad range of diagnostic imaging studies, including ultrasound, mammography, bone mineral density (BMD), and X-ray examinations.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports to support exceptional patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively with imaging technologists, nurses, managers, and fellow radiologists.
  • Foster open communication and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Apply evidence-based practices while supporting continuous quality improvement and innovation within the department.

What You'll Need

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
  • Certification in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Current registration and licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Eligibility to practise independently in Ontario.
  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise legally authorized to work in Canada.

Compensation & Practice Model

This opportunity offers excellent earning potential through an independent contractor model. While medically necessary diagnostic services are billed through OHIP, the practice also includes a comprehensive preventive care model that incorporates uninsured services, contributing to overall physician earnings.

Radiologists typically earn approximately $4,000–$5,000 per shift, depending on the volume and mix of imaging studies interpreted, including ultrasound, mammography, bone mineral density (BMD), and X-ray examinations.

Scheduling is flexible, with preferred coverage during the following hours:

  • Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Weekends: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Radiologists can expect a consistent workload, interpreting an average of 190 studies on weekdays and approximately 130 studies on weekends, offering a rewarding and efficient remote reporting experience.
