Internal Medicine-Hospitalist

Overview:
The Hospital delivers a broad range of acute, subacute, outpatient and diagnostic services to a mixed urban and rural population of approximately 100,000 residents. Currently recruiting Internal Medicine/Hospitalists to provide comprehensive care for inpatients within the Hospitalist Program. The Hospitalists are MRP for general medicine, rehabilitation and psychiatry patients. This hospital is an orthopedic hub as well as a designated District Stroke Center and has a level 3 ICU that is staffed by a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team including intensivists, nurses, and respiratory therapists with access to all other allied health specialists.
Program Description:

Provide in patient care for medical, rehab, and acute mental health patients

24/7 subspecialty support

Established links with tertiary care centers 1.5 hours away

Collegial hospitalist group

Opportunities to teach Medical Residents

Hospitalists work on a 7-day rotation with 3-4 teams working each day

On call 1 time in 4 days per week

The schedule is flexible. I.E. Hospitalists may choose to work 2 weeks on & 2 weeks off, week on & week off, or 1 in 4 weeks
Position Requirements:
-
Fully independent registration (or eligible for) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada – FRCP(C) in Internal Medicine

US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in Ontario

Willing to relocate to the area

Experience working with teams and possessing strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Remuneration
-
FFS + Daily stipend of $1,800, plus the applicable HOCC (Hospital On-Call Coverage) stipend.

Additional remuneration may be available through shadow billing under applicable Internal Medicine billing codes, in addition to the daily stipend. The final compensation structure will be discussed with the successful candidate and may vary based on experience and scope of responsibilities.

The position may also qualify for additional funding through the Ministry of Health.
