In Alberta, Wellpoint is one of the longest standing vendors to be designated as an Occupational Injury Services (OIS) provider by the Workers’ Compensation Board with two clinics in both Calgary and Edmonton respectively. Family medicine has always been a significant component of their clinics in Alberta and they are looking for physicians to join their talented team.
Wellpoint has assembled one of the industry’s premier occupational health teams comprised of physicians, nurses, and technicians, in order to deliver consistent, high-quality service directly to over 200,000 patients, and help their clients realize significant savings with respect to employee health, through reductions in lost time and disability claims.
The Opportunity:
Wellpoint is seeking a General Practitioner for their Family and OIS clinic located at
3716 – 61st Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta.
In addition, this position has the opportunity to practice Occupational Medicine as the clinic is OIS certified and part of a national occupational health services organization.
Physician income is Fee-for-Service and Wellpoint Health offers competitive splits which increase in favour of the physician based on volume and negotiable signing bonuses. Wellpoint Health promotes a collegial, ‘turn-key’ atmosphere ideal for a self-motivated and caring professional clinician. All clinics are paperless using the TELUS Health EMR System (formerly Wolf)
The City
Calgary is fifth-largest city offering big city entertainment with a generous dose of small town appeal. Whatever the time of year you’ll never need an excuse to spend time outdoors. Qualifications:
Canadian or Permanent Residents already holding an Alberta medical license, CCFP Certified or CCFP Eligible, preferred. USA Board, UK, Irish, Australian certified GPs may be considered and are also encouraged to apply.
