Addiction Medicine Physicians (BH 647)

100% Remote – Ontario

Full Time & Part Time Positions Available

Our client, a leader in the pain and addiction management field with a large network of community-based clinics across Southern Ontario, is seeking Addiction Medicine Physicians to join their expanding team. The group’s goal is to enhance the quality of life of patients by delivering a full complement of accessible, community-based health care services.

Position Description
Our client offers a high-volume outpatient practice with a strong referral base from family physicians and in‑house providers. As an Addiction Medicine Physician, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based virtual care to adults with substance use disorders, including opioid, alcohol, and other substance-related conditions.

The clinics provide full administrative support, including scheduling and billing, along with established clinical processes and protocols. With all of the volumes, scheduling, and billing handled for you… you can focus on practicing medicine and delivering high-quality addiction care.

Remuneration

  • Fee-for-service split model (75/ 25)

Hours of Work

  • 100% remote work 
  • Flexible schedule – full time or part time
  • No on call

Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual assessments and follow-up care for patients with substance use disorders
  • Prescribe and manage evidence-based pharmacologic treatments (e.g., OAT, relapse-prevention medications), as appropriate to scope and training
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including pain physicians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals, to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications and Education

  • Full independent registration or eligibility for independent registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Certification in Addiction Medicine (e.g., ASAM, ABAM, CAC, or equivalent) or relevant experience in addiction-focused practice (psychiatry, family medicine, internal medicine, etc.)
  • Royal College or CFPC certification, or US board certification from a recognized jurisdiction that is eligible for CPSO registration
  • Pathway to independent license available for physicians with training and certification from a Royal College approved jurisdiction. 
  • Commitment to evidence-based addiction care and collaborative, patient-centred practice
