Our client, Chinook Cardiology invites applications from exceptional General Cardiologists who wish to establish a substantial outpatient practice within an experienced, physician-led clinical environment. Founded in 2013, Chinook Cardiology provides comprehensive consultation, longitudinal follow-up, and non-invasive cardiac diagnostics for patients across Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.
This opportunity is designed for a cardiologist seeking professional autonomy without the burden of building a practice platform from the ground up. The successful candidate will join an established clinic with experienced administrative, clinical, and technical support; mature referral and diagnostic workflows; and a collegial multidisciplinary team. There is also scope to develop focused outpatient services aligned with the physician's expertise, the clinic's capabilities, and regional patient needs.

About Chinook Cardiology
Chinook Cardiology is a well-established outpatient cardiology and cardiac diagnostic practice based in Lethbridge. The clinic's care model brings specialist consultation, ongoing cardiovascular management, and non-invasive testing together in a coordinated community setting.

Comprehensive outpatient cardiology consultation and follow-up care.

Non-invasive diagnostics including echocardiography, electrocardiography, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

A multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, nurse practitioners, cardiac technologists, and experienced administrative personnel.

A main Lethbridge clinic supported by adult echocardiography access in Pincher Creek, Cardston, Claresholm, and Taber.

Scope of Practice
The successful candidate will:

Establish and maintain a full-time outpatient cardiology practice in Lethbridge.

Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and longitudinal follow-up for adult cardiovascular patients.

Interpret non-invasive investigations, including ECGs, Holter monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and echocardiograms, within the physician's training and privileges.

Provide clear communication and education to patients, families, referring clinicians, and members of the care team.

Collaborate with physician colleagues, nurse practitioners, technologists, and community health professionals to support integrated, patient-centred care.

Participate in clinic quality assurance, clinical standardization, and continuous improvement activities.

Maintain all professional, regulatory, privacy, documentation, and continuing professional development requirements.

Candidate Profile
Applicants should demonstrate:

A medical degree with completed specialty training in Cardiology.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Cardiology, eligibility for certification, or other qualifications acceptable to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Eligibility for independent or provisional registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Sound judgment, professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.

Excellent communication, consultation, and collaborative practice skills.

An interest in contributing to the long-term strength and quality of a respected regional cardiology practice.
Licensure and Assessment Pathways
Candidates who are not yet eligible for independent practice may still be considered where they meet the applicable regulatory requirements. For appropriately qualified candidates, assessment or supervision support may be available, subject to confirmation of eligibility by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, availability of an approved assessor or supervisor, operational feasibility, and separate written agreement. No licensing or assessment outcome can be guaranteed.
Practice Setting and Independence
This is a community-based outpatient opportunity. Hospital privileges are not required and are not part of the position. Any physician who wishes to pursue a separate hospital appointment or privileges must do so independently through the applicable credentialing and medical workforce process. Chinook Cardiology does not guarantee or influence any hospital appointment.
