Cardiologist – Nuclear Cardiology & Quality Assurance

Our client is seeking a Cardiologist with a Cardiac Nuclear focus to join their outpatient cardiology practice in Midtown Toronto. This rewarding opportunity offers full-time or part-time hours with flexible scheduling options.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology consultation and follow-up services while serving as the Quality Assurance (QA) Advisor for the practice's accredited Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory. In this role, the physician will support the laboratory's quality management program by overseeing quality assurance activities, participating in protocol development and review, monitoring quality metrics, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and collaborating with Nuclear Medicine Technologists to promote excellence in patient care.

This position offers the opportunity to combine a comprehensive outpatient cardiology practice with a leadership role in maintaining the quality and safety of an accredited Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory.

THE PRACTICE:

Our client is a community-based ambulatory cardiology clinic and diagnostic facility located in Midtown Toronto. Professional services are provided by 14 Cardiologists and Respirologists affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH), University Health Network (UHN), and the University of Toronto (U of T). These institutional affiliations facilitate seamless continuity with upstream hospital-based cardiac services.

The practice includes an accredited Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory. Administrative support is provided by a dedicated team whose goal is to allow physicians to focus on patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess:

  • Independent or Provisional Practice Certificate of Registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Royal College Certification in Cardiology (or equivalent)

  • Fellowship training and expertise in Nuclear Cardiology as demonstrated by applicable exam 

  • Membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

    US-trained specialists are exempt from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons eligibility requirements (US Board Certified Physicians are eligible for an independent license in Ontario)
