Our client, a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Northern Ontario, is seeking full-time Child And Adolescent Psychiatrists to join their dynamic team. Physicians will work within a collaborative environment, guided by trauma-informed and culturally safe practices, while helping to fulfill the hospital's mission: Providing Exemplary Care to Northerners

 

Overview:  

Successful candidates will provide on-site and/or remote care for a 4-bed dedicated child and adolescent unit & participate in Northeastern Ontario’s  Child and Adolescent Mental Health Regional Program. There is opportunity to participate in new program development within this program along with teaching and mentoring students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

 

Remuneration:

 

  • Fee-for-Service 

  • Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan

  • HOCC On-Call stipend. 

 

Incentives:

 

  • Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.

  • Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.

  • Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Medical Degree with specialist training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

  • Eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario by:

           Hold American Board Certification in Child And Adolescent     
           Psychiatry.

           Holding full license in another Canadian province.

           Have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada       
           certification in Child And Adolescent Psychiatry.

           Eligible to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant       
           Professor or higher.

  • Have, or be eligible to obtain Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.

  • Have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
