Our client requires several General Internists to join their dynamic and progressive teams situated in two locations. Internists with an interest in Cardiology or risk factor modification (hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, nephroprotection, thrombosis, vascular lesions, and conditions) are favourable candidates. The clinics’ culture is to prioritize professional success and work-life balance in a supportive learning and collaborative environment.

The clinics are comprehensive ambulatory, cardiac, and internal medicine consultation and diagnostic centres featuring Independent Health Facility nuclear medicine licenses.  A broad range of cardiac testing is available including stress testing, echo-Doppler, exercise stress echo, stress nuclear, persantine, and exercise stress myocardial perfusion imaging, Holter monitor, cardiac loop recording, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

The clinics are professionally managed by a dedicated team of specialists committed to providing support in all administrative and clinical areas enabling physicians to focus on patient care. The health care team consists of General Internists, Adult and Pediatric Cardiologists, nurse educators, cardiac care nurses, and a physician assistant and manages over 50,000 patient interactions and provides over 35,000 diagnostic tests annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Independent Practice Certificate of Registration from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Membership in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Royal College certification in Internal Medicine (or pending certification)

  • US-trained specialists are exempt from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons eligibility requirements (US Board Certified Physicians are eligible for an independent license in Ontario)

  • Internationally trained candidates who pass the subspecialty exam being launched by the CPSO (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario) will be considered

  • Medical liability insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) or equivalent required, appropriate to the category of practice
