Earning Potential $400, 000-$500,000

Our client is seeking a full-time permanent Hematologist specialist to join their collegial, multi-disciplinary team.

The Hospital, located in Southern PEI is the provincial referral center for specialized hospital services. The 243-bed facility provides emergency, surgical, inpatient and ambulatory care services.

Overview:

You will work closely with a small group of Medical and Hematologic Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Family Medicine (GPO) and Nurse Practitioner colleagues. Services are provided at the regional referral center, and their satellite clinic.

HOURS OF WORK: 

  • Typical business hours Monday–Friday with occasional after-hours work required.

  • Positions require participation in Provincial Oncology on-call schedule.

REMUNERATION: Physicians have the option of choosing salary or fee-for-service payment modality.

INCENTIVES:

  • Moving Expense Allowance is available.

  • Qualified and licensable candidates may be eligible for a return in service grant of $100,000 with a 3 year (5,850 hour) commitment.

  • Opportunity to teach medical students and residents with a faculty appointment from Dalhousie University.

  • Electronic patient record system (hospital based) with access to lab and x-ray reports from the office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FRCPC or eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification.

  • Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island.

  • US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license 

  • All Royal College Approved jurisdictions are eligible for Full license with MCCQE1 or equivalent.

  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

  • Eligible for appointment to the Health PEI Medical Staff with appropriate privileging;

  • Work experience preferable with at least 1- 2 years of clinical experience working in Canada.

  • Ability to drive and travel the island to various locations
