Locum Obstetrician/Gynecologist
(Potential for a Permanent Position)

Earning Potential: $2000/day
Our client is currently seeking Locum Obstetricians/Gynecologists to provide support to its team of specialists beginning immediately for 6 months. The physician will also be required to provide on-call coverage at the county hospital. Placement opportunities can be as short as 1 week or as long as 6 months.
The Locum physician will share in the responsibility for the care of approximately one-third of the women in the province of Prince Edward Island, which has a population of more than 150,000 residents. Obstetricians/Gynecologists in the province provide prenatal care and deliveries. The physician will have privileges in the community hospital, a 110-bed regional hospital with a six-bed ICU that provides specialty services in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT and Psychiatry.
Job Duties:

Provide referral services for family physicians and nurse practitioners in the province.

Participation in on-call services with the group of Obstetricians/Gynecologists.
Hours of Work:
-
Regular office access Monday-Friday up to 37.5 hours/week.

Participation is required for after hours on-call services
Remuneration Options:
-
Daily Rate:
-
$1500 for all medical services provided during regular daytime hours, Monday to Friday; or
-
$2000 for each 24-hour period ($1500 for daytime and $500 for after hours on call)

Fee For Service:
If you were to sign on as a long-term locum, providing 6 months or more of services, you would be eligible for the Blended Payment which is 31% of your shadow billings; the shadow billings payment would be paid quarterly. To qualify for this incentive, contract hourly rate must be the chosen pay modality
Incentives:

Application fees with the Medical Society of PEI and some application fees with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of PEI will be covered.

Travel Reimbursement.

Hospital-based electronic health record systems with access to lab and x-ray reports from the office may be available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification or Holds licensing in another Canadian province.

Eligibility for independent licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island.

American Board Certified Physicians are eligible for an independent license to practice with the CPSPEI.
-
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
