Maternal-Fetal Medicine Opportunity

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Our client is recruiting a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist.  The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of seven obstetricians/gynecologists and three maternal-fetal medicine specialists.  On-call for general obstetrics and gynecology is negotiable.

EMPLOYER:
The client is one of the largest health care organizations in Atlantic Canada, operating 12 hospitals and more than 100 medical facilities, clinics, and offices providing medical services ranging from acute care to community-based health services to New Brunswick, northern Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.  With 1,000 physicians, an annual budget exceeding $1 billion, and approximately 13,000 employee.
 
The client offers excellent opportunities for teaching and clinical research.  It has academic affiliations with Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland, including core rotation for Memorial University of Newfoundland obstetrics/gynecology residents (PGY3).  The hospital is one of the largest employers within metro Moncton, employing 3,000 staff and physicians.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A medical degree is required.

  • Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or American Board Certification in OBGYN with subspecialty in Maternal Fetal Medicine. ; In circumstances where no qualified Canadian trained applicants are available, equivalent certification may be considered as long as they qualify for licensure in the Province of New Brunswick.

  • The candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.

  • Good attendance and work record.

  • Physically able to perform assigned duties.

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • On-call coverage in coordination with the members of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (if applicable)

JOB DUTIES:

REMUNERATION:
Standard remuneration is as per the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Provincial Alternate Funding Plan Agreement.  On-call remuneration is fee-for-service.
