Job Title: Medical Radiation Technologist – Fluoroscopy

Role Overview

Reporting to the Regional Director, the Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) operates fluoroscopy equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs and supports interventional procedures. This role ensures high-quality patient care while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies including Code of Business Conduct, Health & Safety, Violence & Harassment, AODA, and others
  • Support daily clinic operations and continuous patient flow
  • Open and close the clinic as required, including weekends if necessary
  • Greet and prepare patients for fluoroscopic procedures
  • Assess patients to determine proper handling and special requirements
  • Review requisitions for referring providers’ notes and instructions
  • Instruct and assist patients in correct positioning for procedures
  • Provide timely, high-quality fluoroscopic services
  • Enforce radiation safety protocols for patients and staff
  • Maintain fluoroscopy equipment and rooms; report malfunctions to the Quality Advisor and Radiation Protection Officer
  • Order and maintain medical supplies related to fluoroscopy and RFA procedures
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including cleaning, sterilizing instruments, and verifying vaccine/pharmaceutical expiry dates
  • Educate patients, families, students, and healthcare professionals
  • Provide family support, referrals, and counseling as required
  • Follow continuous quality improvement initiatives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • May train or guide other MRTs and support staff
  • May participate in research and support other clinic locations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Certification through the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • 1–3 years of fluoroscopy experience required; multiple modalities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fluoroscopy procedures and techniques
  • Maintain personal liability/medical insurance
  • Knowledge of medical treatment procedures, equipment, and supportive care principles
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of accreditation and certification requirements
  • Patient assessment and referral skills
