Nurse Practitioners (NPs) – British Columbia

Position Overview:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely and effective care. This role offers the opportunity to practice autonomously within your scope while contributing to the well-being of diverse patient populations.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary care services to patients, including health assessments, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic conditions  

  • Develop and implement patient-centered care plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers  

  • Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results  

  • Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions  

  • Offer health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education to improve outcomes  

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records  

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care  

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to best practice guidelines  
     

Qualifications:  

  • Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)  

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent  

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team  

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and digital health tools
