Overview Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join their dynamic birthing and surgical programs, just 30 minutes south of Ottawa. This opportunity offers a  full, community-based obstetrical & general gynecological practice with an opportunity to have both colposcopy and minor procedure clinics, in the hospital. 
 Winchester is a suburb of Ottawa.  The  49-bed community teaching hospital provides over 600 obstetrical deliveries and approximately 2400 medical and surgical admissions per year. They serve a population of 90,000, with about 80,000 visits per year, of which 24,000 are Emergency Department, 450 surgical in-patients, 4,000 day surgeries, 800 obstetrical deliveries, and 19,000 ambulatory clinic visits.The hospital features 4 labour and delivery beds and 4 postpartum beds, serving as a trusted regional center for families across Eastern Ontario. The hospital also hosts a University of Ottawa teaching program, providing opportunities for preceptorship and clinical teaching and potential research opportunities.
  Practice Details
 
-  Team Structure: 3 FRCSC OB/GYNs, 4 GPOBs, 10 midwives 
 
-  Model: Flexible practice; physicians may follow their own patients or share coverage 
 
-  Call: 1:4 ratio 
 
-  Deliveries: ~50% by OBs, 30–35% by midwives, 15–20% by GPOBs 
 
-  Surgical Time: 1 OR day per week per provider 
 
-  Additional Clinics: Colposcopy clinic available on a rotating basis 
 
Compensation and Support
-  Remuneration: Fee-for-service 
-  On-Call Coverage: Eligible for provincial HOCC on-call funding; Enjoy a 1:4 home call schedule for optimal work-life balance.

Teaching & Research
-  Designated University of Ottawa teaching site 
 
-  Family medicine residents and medical students regularly rotate through 
 
-  Research opportunities available 
Position Requirements:
-  Full independent registration (or eligible for) with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). 
-  Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada – FRCP(C) in Obstetrics and Gynecology is an asset. 
-  US Board Certified Physicians are eligible for independent license in Ontario.
