Our client, Anova Fertility & Reproductive Health, is seeking Obstetrics & Gynaecology physicians
Anova Fertility & Reproductive Health is seeking an OB/GYN to provide high-quality, patient-centred fertility and reproductive health services across its Tri-City spoke locations. Working in close collaboration with Anova’s central fertility and IVF program, the physician will facilitate timely fertility assessment, diagnostic testing, treatment monitoring, early pregnancy care, and selected office-based procedures locally. Patients requiring advanced reproductive technologies or subspecialty management will be seamlessly coordinated with the central hub.
This role expands access to evidence-based fertility care in the Tri-City region while ensuring consistent clinical protocols, documentation, quality assurance, and continuity of care across the Anova network.

Key Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct initial fertility consultations and appropriate reproductive and gynecologic assessments.
- Obtain comprehensive reproductive, menstrual, obstetrical, gynecologic, medical, surgical, genetic, and family histories.
- Perform physical and gynecologic examinations where clinically indicated.
- Initiate and interpret standard fertility investigations within established program protocols, including ovarian reserve assessment, endocrine investigations, pelvic ultrasonography, and other appropriate testing.
- Perform saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS/sonohysterograms) for assessment of the uterine cavity, including evaluation for polyps, submucosal fibroids, adhesions, congenital uterine anomalies, and other intracavitary pathology.
- Where appropriately credentialed and within the spoke’s scope, perform additional office-based gynecologic procedures relevant to fertility assessment.
- Review fertility investigations with patients and provide counselling regarding findings and appropriate next steps.
- Provide ultrasound and clinical monitoring of patients undergoing fertility treatment according to protocols established by the central fertility program.
- Assess treatment-related symptoms and identify patients requiring escalation to the REI physician or central fertility hub.
- Provide preconception counselling and management of appropriate reproductive-health conditions that may affect fertility.
- Facilitate early pregnancy assessment and appropriate follow-up, including recognition and escalation of pregnancy of unknown location, suspected ectopic pregnancy, early pregnancy loss, or other complications.
- Refer patients requiring IVF, advanced reproductive technologies, complex reproductive surgery, third-party reproduction, genetic evaluation, or subspecialty REI management to the central fertility hub.
Hub-and-Spoke Clinical Integration
As an integrated member of Anova’s fertility program, the physician will:
- Follow standardized clinical pathways, protocols, policies, and procedures established by the fertility program.
- Practice within the defined clinical scope and escalation framework established for the spoke.
- Collaborate directly with REI physicians regarding complex cases or deviations from established treatment pathways.
- Participate in case review and clinical quality-assurance activities where required.
- Maintain timely and complete documentation within the designated EMR.
- Ensure investigations, ultrasound findings, procedural reports, and clinical decisions are communicated promptly to the central fertility team.
- Use standardized order sets, medication protocols, consent processes, documentation templates, and referral pathways.
- Participate in continuing education and protocol updates relevant to fertility and reproductive medicine.
- Support a seamless patient experience between the spoke clinic and central IVF facility.
Sonohysterography Responsibilities
The physician will be expected to independently perform and document sonohysterograms, including:
- Confirming indication and appropriate timing of the procedure.
- Reviewing relevant pregnancy and infection considerations before proceeding.
- Obtaining informed consent.
- Performing transcervical catheter placement and saline infusion with concurrent transvaginal ultrasound assessment.
- Systematically assessing and documenting the endometrial cavity and relevant uterine findings.
- Recognizing normal variants and abnormalities including endometrial polyps, submucosal leiomyomas, adhesions, and congenital anomalies.
- Identifying complications and providing appropriate post-procedure management.
- Determining when findings require further imaging, hysteroscopy, surgical consultation, or REI review.
- Completing standardized procedural documentation and communicating clinically significant findings to the fertility hub.
Quality, Safety & Professional Responsibilities
The physician is expected to maintain compliance with applicable CPSO standards, institutional policies, privacy requirements, infection prevention and control standards, and relevant provincial and federal requirements.
The physician will participate in appropriate quality-improvement initiatives, incident reporting, peer review, and continuing professional development and will maintain the competencies and credentials required for all procedures performed at the spoke.
Required Qualifications and Credentials
- Doctor of Medicine degree, or an equivalent medical qualification recognized for practice in Ontario.
- Royal College certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, or equivalent specialist credentials acceptable to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Current, unrestricted independent registration with the CPSO, or eligibility to obtain such registration before commencing practice.
- Current Canadian Medical Protective Association membership or equivalent professional liability protection appropriate to the scope of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of Anova’s credentialing, privacy, infection-prevention, occupational-health, and onboarding requirements.
Required Experience and Clinical Competencies
- A minimum of two years of independent clinical practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology following completion of specialty training is preferred; exceptional recent graduates with relevant fertility-focused training will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience assessing and managing patients with infertility, menstrual or ovulatory disorders, recurrent pregnancy loss, and other reproductive-health concerns.
- Demonstrated competency in transvaginal pelvic ultrasonography, including follicular monitoring, endometrial assessment, and early pregnancy evaluation.
- Demonstrated competency in independently performing, interpreting, and documenting saline infusion sonohysterography; recent procedural experience and supporting case logs or training documentation may be requested during credentialing.
- Experience ordering and interpreting fertility investigations, including ovarian reserve, endocrine, uterine, tubal, and partner-related assessments within the physician’s scope.
- Experience monitoring ovulation-induction or ovarian-stimulation cycles and recognizing findings that require urgent assessment or escalation to an REI specialist.
- Competence in early pregnancy assessment, including evaluation of pregnancy of unknown location, suspected ectopic pregnancy, early pregnancy loss, and complications requiring escalation or emergency referral.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain informed consent, explain investigations and treatment options clearly, and provide trauma-informed, culturally safe, inclusive, and patient-centred care.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and the timely completion of consultation notes, procedure reports, orders, referrals, and inter-site clinical communications.
- Ability to practise independently within defined protocols while collaborating effectively with REI physicians, nurses, sonographers, laboratory professionals, counsellors, administrative teams, and referring providers.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Formal fellowship, focused training, elective experience, or continuing professional development in fertility, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, reproductive ultrasound, or early pregnancy care.
- Experience in a fertility clinic, satellite fertility program, ambulatory gynecology practice, or hub-and-spoke clinical network.
- Experience with intrauterine insemination cycles, fertility medication protocols, third-party reproduction pathways, and preconception genetic screening.
- Experience participating in quality improvement, case review, incident reporting, protocol development, clinical education, or interdisciplinary simulation.
- Ability to provide clinical coverage across Anova’s designated Tri-City locations, based on program and patient-care needs.
Language Proficiency
- Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English is required to support safe clinical communication, informed consent, patient counselling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accurate medical documentation.
- Proficiency in any additional language is considered a valued asset and may enhance access to culturally responsive care for Anova’s diverse patient population.
