Our client, a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Northern Ontario, is seeking full-time Psychiatrists to join their dynamic team. Overview
The successful candidate will provide General Psychiatry for both inpatient & outpatient services in our clients 22 bed adult unit. They will also provide ECT services, provide outpatient consultation, and participate in an on-call schedule. There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan

HOCC On-Call stipend.
Incentives:

Incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.

Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.

Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice.
Qualifications:
-
Medical Degree with specialist training in Psychiatry.

Certification or eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. (FRCPC)

Eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario by:
-
Hold American Board Certification in Psychiatry.

Holding full license in another Canadian province.
-
Have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Psychiatry.
-
Eligible to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

US Board certified physicians are eligible for an independent license in Ontario.

Have (or be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.

Have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
