IMG working in USA

Very impressed with the service at CanAm Physician Recruiting. I was in a very difficult job situation (and visa situation) and John Philpott helped me to get a job in a few days in Nova Scotia. I had million other questions besides the job (visa, insurance, who to call..) and John was always available, and give me the info in a timely manner (within hours!). I never experienced similar exceptional service before with any of the job recruiter agencies in the US. I would rate him as AAA+++

Phil Jost – I am writing to you to express my gratitude and admiration for your professionalism, high standards and matching capabilities in fitting doctors and their families in the appropriate environment in Canada. My trip in March 2011 was smoothed with careful planning thanks to your Company associates whether those were lawyers , travel agents, bankers orstate agents. My way was paved all the way through.Certainly from this experience CanAm earned my respect, my trust and my loyalty in helping me realise my dream!

Dr J. Singbo MBCHB, FCP(SA), Endo. Cert. (SA)

“Dear Michelle, It was great experience working with you. After completing my training 2016, I had tried so many times to work in Canada. I must confess it was quite challenging and discouraging to integrate into the healthcare system in Canada as a foreign qualified physician. I finally gave up. Michelle, since I was introduced to you, it is unbelievable how easy the whole process became. Your advice and guidance throughout the process, from interview to physician job offer, CPSNL licensing process, and immigration process, was so helpful and very supportive. I would like to say a special thank you for being patient and supportive during the delay of my certificate of good standing and also for information and advice provided on the registration process for my wife. I am really grateful, thank you very much. You made it very easy and successful.”

I am a Family Physician from the UK and got interested in relocating to Ontario. Not to anybody’s surprise, the process of getting licensed by CPSO was so very complicated – requiring endless paperwork, finding a supervisor and satisfying many criteria. While I was hunting for jobs in Ontario, one morning, my wife accidentally came across Hedi Cameron’s ( of CamAm Physician Recruiting) details and I emailed her with my queries. She replied within minutes and that was the start and she kept her promptness, professionalism and courtesy all the way till I finally got the license. It was a particularly difficult journey for me as I required a clinical supervisor for a certain period and this really posed a stumbling block to the progress. Hedi was very prompt and efficient, she was on the phone with the college numerous times to clarify matters, also chasing behind the supervisors to keep the paperwork ready within target time. What impressed me particularly was that Hedi genuinely looked after my welfare as much as she cared for the employer all along the difficult and protracted journey. Never was there a time that she tried to cut corners just for the sake of finding me a place. We had to move between many employers in order to satisfy the College regarding the arrangements for my supervision at work. Hedi made herself available in the weekends and at unsocial hours as I had a tight schedule. She was very friendly, honest and I find her extremely knowledgeable in her field. She is outspoken, genuine and does not give false hopes. I was extremely lucky to have met Hedi Cameron and I am absolutely certain that without her in the scene, I would never have obtained my license from CPSO. I find Hedi Cameron one of the most efficient professionals that I have ever met and I would strongly recommend Hedi Cameron of CanAm Physician Recruiting to any physician who is considering relocating to Canada.

I am very glad that I took this step and consult the CanAm team, after this consultation and reviewing the webinar, it became very clear to me what are my options as IMG in Canada. Mr. John reviewed my CV and told me exactly the best available options for me. Thank you again guys for everything..

None of the good things already posted about Hedi Cameron are exaggerations. At the age of 52 I have seldom if ever met a more professional person, pleasant to talk to and following through on every detail. After she spent some time with me at one of my job interviews, the person who hired her to recruit me also commented on her outstanding professionalism, as it is even more apparent in person than it is on the phone. I once told a friend thinking of relocating to Canada to call her if interested, that she would feel like a million dollar CEO the way everything was taken care of in such a friendly, prompt and efficient manner. Now I’m moved to the practice she helped me choose without pressure, she is still invested in my success here. We doctors seldom encounter people in the business world who behave as if every person and every detail matters in the way we often try to in our work, so when someone exceeds our expectations it really is extraordinary.

The CanAm team clearly have the experience and expertise to assist physicians seeking licensure and employment in Canada. It is well known that Canada remains one of the more challenging countries for IMGs who are looking to practice, despite the country’s well known huge demand and shortage of qualified physicians. The route is paved with obstacles often deemed insurmountable. I am glad to say that my initial 2 hour long phone consultation with Mr Philpott, allowed me to elucidate some of these obstacles. The team offer a case based approach which is probably the most valuable aspect of the service they offer. The website offers a webinar, entitled ‘How to Practice in Canada’, which outlines the process. The cost of this was kindly waved in addition to the 2 hour phone consultation with John. The complexities of the process wouldn’t allow for a generic pathway. CanAM physician recruiting are clearly very knowledgeable and sufficiently resourceful to offer a tailored, individualised passage through the Canadian licensing labyrinth. I have no reservations in strongly recommending John Philpott and his team of experts to all International Medical graduates, and Canadian graduates alike, who have made the educated decision of wanting to practice their craft in Canada.

That’s way more clever than I was expecting. Thanks!

The Canam team seems to have a very good grasp of what it takes to get IMGs practising in Canada. The staff are hands on and are well placed to advise on steps required to eliminate any deficits capable of making it difficult to get employment as a physician in Canada. The assessment fee is well worth it.

I recently relocated my family to Canada through Phil Jost and CanAm. He is an extraordinarily diligent, hard-working, consistent, highly reliable and dependable and profoundly knowledgable professional. These sterling qualities come to the fore in every aspect of Phil’s work and operation. He is extremely honest and pays utmost attention to details. He has an excellent, broad and deep knowledge of every aspect of the needs of a medical recruit and his family, including immigration, banking, accounting, real estate, schooling and lots more. He has a great network and links with highly skilled and helpful professionals in all of these highlighted areas that are necessary for settling into a new job and community. He was able to link us up with solid professionals in all these aspects to ease our relocation to Canada. I would recommend him mostly highly and without reservation to any potential physician or other recruit.

Leszek Swica MD, FRCPSC

My name is Leszek Swica, I am Canadian trained and Royal College certified anesthesiologist. Following completion of my residency training at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia I worked for 13 years at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. In November 2011 administration cancelled the local anesthesia contract agreement and I decided to look for another place of employment. Following recommendation of my anesthesia colleague I contacted Mr. John Philpott from CanAm Physician Recruiting. In his recruitment effort Mr. Philpott was looking for the place that would match my training, work experience, carrier goals and would also give me financial stability. He identified a vacant position at the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current, Saskatchewan which was not advertised in medical journals or recruitment web sites. Mr. Philpott was very efficient in his search and brought to my attention the fact that there was another strong candidate looking seriously at this place. Following his advice I went ASAP for the site visit in Swift Current. I received the job offer and I signed my present contract agreement at the time of that site visit in March 2012. Thanks to Mr. Philpott I found a great place to work and live. The Cypress Regional Hospital has a very professional work environment and friendly relations between OR staff and members of other departments. Physicians are very well looks after and enjoy good working relations with the local administration. The Cypress Health Region has the Family Medicine training programme affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan. As a preceptor of the residents having anesthesia rotations I was appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. I find my teaching activities to be very exciting, professionally stimulating and refreshing. Town of Swift Current has a population size, life style and all amenities very similar to Pictou County in Nova Scotia where I lived and worked until April 2012. Province of Saskatchewan has a strong and booming economy. Saskatchewan Medical Association enjoys very good working contacts with the provincial government and is able to negotiate good working conditions and competitive income for its members. It is my great pleasure to write about this positive experience and I can highly and without hesitation recommend Mr. John Phipott and CanAm Physician Recruiting. He is very professional and honest. He is also very efficient and his recruitment objectives are
